R-haltenswert - Equine Quality Control

EQC-Report: FEI World Cup Finals Basel

Our report by R-haltenswert sheds light on the topic of horse welfare during the FEI World Cup Finals in Basel with facts, observations and concrete recommendations for action based on our Equine Quality Control (EQC) pilot project.

Why EQCs at the FEI World Cup Finals Basel?

More fairness, better ratings, more successful tournament

Basel is the stage for top international equestrian sport - and precisely the right place for a new chapter: with the EQC pilot project, we are creating transparency where the public has previously had little insight - on the warm-up arenas. Independent experts observe and document - not judgmentally, but objectively and with an eye on the essentials: a harmonious coexistence of riders and horses - even away from the spotlight.

Symbol for ethical responsibility in equestrian sport.

R-haltenswert had its own EQC (Equine Quality Control) team at the FEI World Cup™ Final 2025 in Basel for the first time - an important step for our still young initiative.
The accompanying report on our work on site is now available for download in German and English.
I am very proud of my team: Falk Stankus, Jonathan Marquardt and Marcel Egger observed and documented the warm-up arena with great professional flair and calm. André Hascher was always at my side as a partner and legal advisor and helped to bring structure and legal certainty to this sensitive process.

Our observations were not judgmental, but objective and respectful - always in the interests of the horse and responsible sport.
What we publish here is not a personal report by individuals, but a visible sign of what we want to achieve with R-haltenswert: Creating trust, taking responsibility and making change possible.

I would like to thank my team from the bottom of my heart - and invite you to see for yourself.
